Being careful, I made the 20 mil over a course of 3 days, totaling a debt of 1.5 mil and some change for oxygen and tether costs, so still a giant profit. You don’t even have to make the 500k each shift, you have an unlimited number of days for each job, as long as your debt doesn’t total more than the the value of the ship, you’ll be ok, which is why the gecko class regularly show a $20mil haul. That's what early access is all about, after all. We shouldn't want to deny anyone enjoyment in this experience, so let's hope the dev team can tweak it just right. It all just seems like an overreaction.īut, again, options are best. What's most frustrating is that people will comment "I was gonna buy this, but then I heard it had a timer, so no thank you" having no context whatsoever they turn away. It's not so bad here, but on the Steam Disscusion page, you see people get really bent out of shape over it. Treating it like some looming death clock is just giving it far too much credit. It's a minor inconvenience, sure, to be pulled out and have to go back to a menu, but no more than that. You are not limited to a certain number of shifts per ship. It doesn't take your progress away at the end of it. The timer doesn't mean you have to race to complete anything. It forces you back to the Hab, and you are charged your daily fees, but you are free to go right back to work on the same ship, for as long as you like. But I feel part of the issue is that, really, the shift timer is largely meaningless. Options are best, and changes are coming to appease a wider audience.
